Make Up/Beauty Items That Are Worth The Splurge

Today I wanted to blog about some of my favorite make up items that I have not minded splurging on. I feel that if I am going to use make up, I want to make sure its the best quality it can be. No, not all of my make up is expensive but I do tend to gravitate toward the higher end name brands because I know what works best for myself. And, what woman doesn’t enjoy splurging on herself everyone once in awhile? We deserve it!

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette $49.00

p384402-av-02-hero300

Can I just say that this palette smells just like chocolate! Yes I said it, chocolate! The palette is made with cocoa extracts which provides antioxidants and aids to reduce inflammation in the skin. How awesome is that!? I absolutely love this palette! It is one of my go to’s because there are so many different looks you can create with it. I own a lot of Too Faced Palettes and this one is by far my favorite one (so far). All of the Too Faced Palette’s come with a How To Guide, to give you examples of looks to create. it is paraban and sulphate free. Even better! So ladies if you don’t have this palette in your collection, I highly recommend it! You can purchase this at Ulta, Sephora and TooFaced.

The Original Beauty Blender $19.95

p228913-pkg-01-hero300

I bought my first beauty blender about a year ago. I had seen this all over youtube and everyone raved about this. I was like $19.95 for a make-up sponge, you are out of your mind. So I finally gave in and let me tell you, it is worth the money! You can use it to apply: foundation, powders, primers, cream blushes and any other complexion product. It is an edgeless, non disposable, high-definition sponge. As soon as I first used it, I could tell that my make-up went on flawlessly (I use it for my foundation primarily). It is best used when damp (no this does not make you look like a grease ball, etc). Using the beauty blender damp helps the foundation (or whatever product you use it for) sit on top of it rather than it being absorbed into the sponge. With that, it helps reduce the waste of your make-up. You can purchase this at Sephora

Sephora Instant Moisturizer $22

This right here is by far my favorite moisturizer that I have ever used. Something about the formula just makes my skin glow and look 100 X’s healthier. It is light weight and non-greasy (which is great for me because I tend to have normal to oily skin). I typically put this on before I put my make-up on and then put my make-up over it. I also, use this in my night-time routine which you can see http://sweetteaandhydrangeas.com/2015/03/31/my-current-night-time-routine/ So if you’re looking for a great quality moisturizer this is my #1 pick! You can purchase this at Sephora.

GlamGlow YouthMud Tingleexfoliate Treatment $69

s1463801-main-hero-300

This is one of my favorite mud masks that I have tried. After you have taken it off you will notice how much softer your skin is. While providing tighter skin texture and tighter pores, it provides a more youthful appearance and absorbs impurities without removing natural oils. It includes:

-French Sea Clay: Absorbs impurities and toxic substances, while leaving essential natural oils and minimizing pore size.
-Volcanic Pumice Rock: Multi-level surface exfoliation that you control to clear dead skin cells, smoothing out fine lines and softening skin texture.
-Green Tea Leaf Pieces: GLAMGLOW® groundbreaking patent pending TEAOXI™ technology delivers fresh Super-Squalene, EGCG super antioxidants, and Polypenols directly into the mud from the real pieces of tea leaf.

It can be purchased at Sephora GlamGlow

Urban Decay Naked Palette $54

s1324532-main-hero-300

This is an oldie put goodie. I remember when this palette first came out and everyone went NUTS over it (myself included). It is so perfect to create a natural look or even a smokey eye with. This can be purchased at Ulta Sephora Urban Decay

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit $40

s1615186-main-hero-300

This right here is a girls best friend! It has 3 highlighting and 3 contouring shades in it. If you have never done HAC (highlighting and contouring) before, I highly suggest it, for when you are going to be at an event where you take a lot of photos, or even if you’re not going somewhere special. It is to help create light and dark areas to sculpt and shape the face in a pleasing way. Contouring is giving shape to an area of the face and enhancing the facial structure through makeup (So if you want to hide a double chin or make your nose look slimer-this is great for that). This can be purchased at Sephora Ulta AnastasiaBeverlyHills

So these are some of my favorite high-end products that I have splurged on! Do you have any products that you recommend we try? If so, leave us a comment so we can check them out!!
