Building A Professional Wardrobe

Happy Wednesday Everyone!! Today is all about building a great wardrobe for the work place. Now not everyone works in an office setting (which is perfectly okay). I however, do work in the corporate office for my company and have to be dressed professionally. The great thing about my office is that we can be as dressy as we want or do business casual (which is typically what I wear). I know for those of us who have to wear professional clothing on a daily basis, may have a hard time figuring out what items we want for that “Professional Wardrobe”. I had seen years ago something on I think pinterest about this topic and it came in handy because I was getting ready to start my first “big girl job”. So today I have a few tips on how to build the perfect wardrobe for your professional life style.
So lets face it, buying clothes to wear while working in an office can be pricy at times! I really do like dressing up though but sometimes my budget does not allow me to buy everything I want. So here are some items that every professional woman should have in her closet.
Basic-Foundation Items:
  1. Black Blazer
  2. Black Pants
  3. Black Pencil Skirt
  4. Alternate Neutral Pants
  5. 2 Camisoles/Shirts (White and Black)

These 5 pieces truly are key to a professional wardrobe. The good thing about black clothing items, is that it can be paired with just about anything.

You’re probably thinking well that’s kind of a boring wardrobe but let’s get to the next item on the agenda.

Colors, Patterns and Textures:

  1. 3 Patterned Dresses
  2. 3 Blouses-2 Color & 1 Pattern
  3. 3 Colored Cardigans
  4. 1 Patterned Skirt
  5. 3 Colored Blazers

For someone like myself, I love to add color to my wardrobe. I have several dresses, skirts, blouses, etc that are different colors and patterns. It helps give excitment to those black clothing items.

Now on to the last item on the agenda.

Accessories & Shoes:

  1. 1 Black Shoe (heels or flats are just fine)
  2. 2 Short Necklaces
  3. 1 Long Necklace
  4. 1 Patterned Scarf
  5. 2 Belts-Black and Brown

Here are some of the professional pieces that I am loving right now!
