First Impression: Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation

NaturalBuff-FitMe-MattePorelessFoundation-pack

I recently took a trip to Ulta and decided to try out some new products. I have heard so many good things about the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation, so I decided to give it a try. And…..I think I may have found a new drug store foundation that I am in love with! I typically do not use drug store foundations/powders anymore because I find that they do not give me the coverage that I really want. They also in the past did not have a shade that fit my skin tone the best.

I’ve been a MAC lover when it comes to foundation/powders for about 10 years now and I never felt the need to go back to drug store products. Now of course I watch youtube beauty videos several times weekly, so I kept on seeing reviews on this foundation, which made me decide to try it out. I must say, I am extremely impressed with this foundation. I choose to purchase the matte formula because I have normal to oily skin, so anything to help reduce the shine I get, the better. They do have another formula for normal to dry skin as well.

One of the great thing about this foundation is that it does come in several different shades (which at times can be hard to find with drug store products). The foundation is a tone + texture+ fitting foundation that gives you a natural look. I know when it comes to certain foundations, they can make you look like a cake face (not cute, at least not on me). The matt formula helps mattify skin, erase your pores and matches your natural skin tone.

I applied this foundation before going to run a few errands on Saturday, to see how it would hold up. I do recommend that you apply the foundation with a damp beauty blender because it will make the foundation go on so much smoother (but you can use any foundation brush or sponge). When applying it I found that it went on very easily and blended out smoothly (which is a big deal for me when it comes to foundations). It gave me a very natural look, which I really liked. For my everyday makeup routine (with the exception of the weekends typically) I go for a simple look that’s basic and easy. Lets face it, in the mornings before work, I would rather sleep in than get all dolled up with a full face of glam.  So here is my picture of what the foundation looked like on my skin.

Altogether, I really do like this foundation. I did have a little bit of oilyness in my t-zone but nothing that was crazy. The foundation held up for several hours without any issues of it coming off. So if you’re looking for a great drug store foundation, I recommend the Fit Me one.
