Sweat Proofing Your Makeup For The Summer

0001-30905038

Happy Thursday Loves! Today I am bringing you some tips on how to make your make up last longer during the hotter months! I am one of those people who hated to put on makeup during the summer because by the end of the day it would all be gone. I’m sure everyone else feels the same way. This was all before I learned a few tips/tricks on how to get it to stay on all day long (watching youtube videos, reading makeup books, etc comes in handy).

Adjusting your beauty routine accordingly for the hotter months is important (if you don’t want to feel like you wasted all that time getting ready). So what does it take to keep your makeup to stay put during the summer?

  1. Prep Your Face With a Primer. Using a primer before you apply your foundation will help your makeup last all day. The key to finding the perfect primer are the ones that have a silicone in the formula. The silicone will help fight off the humidity that comes during summer.
  2. Chose a foundation that is silicone based. Using a silicone based foundation will keep your makeup looking fresh and will keep it from sliding off your face.
  3. Use a waterproof concealer. Nothing sucks more when you use a concealer and it creases/gets cakey underneath your eyes. I promise you investing in waterproof concealer for the summer is worth it!
  4. Use waterproof eyeliner and mascara. Have you ever applied your eyeliner or mascara and halfway through the day you look like you got beat up because you have dark circles underneath your eyes? Been there done that….say no to racoon eyes!

I hope these tips help your makeup stay put during the crazy hot months of summer! If you have any other suggestions/tips on sweat-proof makeup leave us a comment below.
