16 In 2016

16in2016

It’s Wednesday Y’all!!! The weekend is almost here! If you can’t tell I am ready for Friday. It’s been an extremely long week. I got this idea for this post from Lexi at A Blissful HavenΒ I thought it was a lot of fun and it got me thinking. What are some things I want to do this year? It’s kind of like a bucket list. Here is what I came up:

  1. Read 12 books. I have been wanting to read more but have just not had the time. This year I am going to make sure I read more.
  2. Visit a place I have never been. I love traveling, so I really want to on trips to places I’ve never been before.
  3. Learn how to cook more meals. Let’s face it, I am not the most domestic woman there is but I do enjoy cooking.
  4. Go on more date nights. I love going on date nights with my boyfriend. We go on them one or twice a month but I think we need more.
  5. Learn how to shoot my new gun. I know how to shoot guns already but having a new gun, you always want to make sure you know how to shoot it properly.
  6. Go on a girls trip. I have not been on a girls trip with my friends in so long. One is in store this year!
  7. Plan an amazing 30th birthday celebration for myself. I can’t say that I am loving the idea of turning 30 this year (in fact I hate the idea), but if I am going to be getting one year older…you damn right I’m going to celebrate it with a bang.
  8. Do a 5K. One of my goals this year is to get into better shape. I think doing a 5K goes hand in hand with that. I also haven’t participated in a 5K in years.
  9. Spend more time relaxing (me time). Not really sure if that counts as something to put on a bucket list, but hey I don’t care. It’s going on here. πŸ™‚
  10. Try 5 new restaurants in my area. I love food and I love trying new places to eat.
  11. Learn how to use my camera’s properly. I have two amazing camera’s but I have yet to really learn how to fully utilize them to the fullest (hence one of my goals is to become better at photography this month).
  12. Attend a festival. I love attending festivals (I am from Louisiana, we are known for our festivals) but since I have moved, I have not really attended any recently.
  13. Spend more time with my family & friends. I feel this is something so important to do.
  14. Try a new hair color. I typically stay within a certain range of hair colors but I am thinking of trying something new. Like this hair color here.Β hair
  15. Try Pure Barre. A lot of my friends have done these classes and said it’s amazing. I am hoping to at least go to one class.
  16. Start a new hobby. Not sure what that hobby will be but I’ll figure it out.

I hope you enjoyed my bucket list for this year! What’s on your bucket list for 2016?

  1. One of my goals is to commit to reading more as well! it can be so difficult to find time between work, grad school, blogging, and other commitments. But, I will try my best to make it happen!

That’s funny Angela! A lot of people think I am way younger than what I am. So I guess that is a plus for me. I’m still debating on rather or not to do my hair that color. It’s completely out of my comfort zone but I think about it and it’s just hair. Pure Barre is supposed to be absolutely amazing.

Love your bucket list! I recently tried a class similar to Pure Barre and I loved it! It’s a bit pricey to do on a regular basis, but it’s a lot of fun and a great work out. This year I will also be taking more me time and learning to use my camera. I will also be conquering the MCAT and finishing my Master’s in Public Health!

    Happy New Year,
    Roxy

p.s. that red hair will look great on u!

Thank You Roxy! It is very pricey to say the least. I wish I had all the money in the world and time to do more fitness classes. But that’s not always the case. So sometimes you just have to settle for the gym, which I am not complaining about. I really need more “me” time. I am currently in the process of applying for graduate school for Social Work. So hopefully I will get accepted. Good luck on conquering your MCAT!!!! I’m sure you will do amazing on it! πŸ™‚

  6. Great list. I hope it all works out for you. I also want to read more this year. I started towards the end of the year. This year my goal is two books a month but nearly half way through January I’m thinking 18 books might be more realistic than 24. Besides rebranding my site this month and working on new projects I have been fighting a viral respiratory infection so to say the least I haven’t gotten much (okay any book reading) done since the clock struck 12 on NYE.
Love the pin of the hair color!
I also hope for more real relaxation time not…watching tv with the laptop out or working on things during it.

  15. This is an awesome list! Happy early birthday!
One of my goals this year was to unplug (just a little) each day by leaving my phone out in the hallway instead of having it charge right by my head. Another one is to not plan an early breakfasts, coffee dates or fitness classes early on the weekend so that I can catch up on my sleep and just relax! All of my resolutions this year came from Arianna Huffington’s book Thrive, if you’re looking for books ideas to reach your goal!
