Why I Read Your Blog

Why I Read Your Blog

Happy Wednesday Y’all!! I want to start off by saying THANK YOU to everyone who sent well wishes for the family emergency that has recently occurred. I appreciate it a lot. It has not been easy to deal with but I know there is a reason for everything. Now on to something positive…. Today I am sharing with you on why I read your blog.

I’m Learning Something From You

I love when other bloggers share DIY projects, reviews, blogging tips, recipes, etc because it is expanding my knowledge on a certain topic or product that I may or may not be familiar with. Let’s face it I am not the most creative person on the planet or the best cook, so anything you can teach me in those departments is even better. I also love seeing reviews on products that I want to potentially try, etc. Bloggers are people I trust to give me their honest opinion, so if they think something sucks I am going to take that into consideration. Of course I also love learning new tips on how to blog or improve the one’s I already know. You’re teaching me something I don’t know. That keeps me interested.

You Are Real

You don’t sugar coat anything because you are honest. Sure being positive all the time is great but not everything we experience as bloggers is perfect. You express yourself and not afraid to be vulnerable. I like that because it makes me be able to relate to your more.

Your Images

I am a sucker for visual images that are appealing. No this doesn’t mean you have to be perfect at photography (lord knows I am far from it) but your imagesΒ help make the post stand out even more. They also help tell your story.

I Connect With What You Have To SayΒ

I love reading blog’s that I can relate to. When I find a blog that I really connect with, it keeps me coming back for more. I want to know more about you and what you have to say.

Your Blog Is Easy To Navigate Around

I love visiting a blog that is organized and neat. It makes it easier for me to be able to get around and explore all of your posts.

These are just a few reasons why I visit other’s blogs. What are some of your reason’s for visiting someone’s blog?

  1. These are great points and definitely gave me something to think about with my own blog. I totally agree – I read blogs if I can relate to the content, learn something from the blogger, or if the blogger has a unique experience to offer. I’m also really attracted to witty topics and awesome photos.

  4. My reasons for reading various blogs vary but honestly the reason I read a lot of them is because I have built a relationship with that person somehow. It may not be that it is a topic that really is in my niche or interest range but because I “know” the person I am invested in reading, Does that make sense? You have some great reasons here and I echo them but I also add because I want to build more of a relationship with you!

  29. I read blogs for many of the same reasons. Some blogs I will read mainly for the recipes or travel tips, but others I come back to because I connect with them on some level, whether how they live their lives or our interests, and because I feel like I actually LIKE the author as a person. I’m also very much a visual person, so the design of the blog and the photos are often a big draw.

  56. I love reading blogs where I feel like I’m learning something, or they offer some really valuable insight. My favourite bloggers do all those things you mentioned, great look, fab pictures, etc.

These are all great, but my favorite one is “you are real.” All my favorite blogs have one thing in common: the writer seems genuine. That’s what I love most about blogging; getting to know other people I wouldn’t have otherwise. Thanks for sharing!

  59. I love visiting a blog with a strong voice. (A good example of this is Aussa’s voice at aussalorens.com – she writes about hilarious things in her life and also serious things, but with a really relatable and funny voice!) I get sucked in with humour and insight as well. I love when someone is thoughtful!

Thanks for sharing this β€” it kind of makes me wonder if you’ve ever reviewed blogs before!

I completely agree with this. I have subscribed to so many blogs then later unsubscribed because I have lost interest when the author failed to post new, engaging content. It’s a struggle as a writer to be unique when almost everything has been done before.

Hi, Mistle. I appreciate hearing about how you choose which blogs to read with your valuable time. There are a lot of great blogs and it’s affirming to see that you are supporting other bloggers with your readership. And honestly, it is a great way to learn.

I was really impacted by this –>”You don’t sugar coat anything because you are honest. Sure being positive all the time is great but not everything we experience as bloggers is perfect. You express yourself and not afraid to be vulnerable”

My blogs are typically about arts and cultural events and I want to support artists and nonprofit arts organizations by being positive but lately I’ve been wondering if an honest critique wouldn’t be better in some cases. So, thanks for the words of wisdom.

  68. It’s so important that people be real. My favorite bloggers are the ones who tell it like it is and aren’t afraid of being who they are. It’s so important to be real online because their are so many bloggers, you need to be you.

  69. Yes! I subscribe fully to being authentic. Blogs are an extension of you and your personality, and nothing should ever compromise that. I also love reading other blogs, because everyone is so good at different things, it’s a large diverse learning community!~

Joyce I agree! Being authentic is so important when it comes to being a blogger. I feel that if people do not like the real me when they read my blog, then that’s okay. I am not going to chance because they don’t like me,etc. I love reading blogs because I always learn something from someone else. Thank You for reading!
