February Goals

February goals

Happy Wednesday Y’all!!! Can y’all believe that it is already February? I feel that January passed by so fast. Completely off topic of my goals (at this moment), I must say that I am glad that January is over. These past two weeks have been extremely sad and exhausting for me, my boyfriend and his family. His uncle was put into the hospital because he was slowly losing his fight to cancer. After dealing with it for the past seven years, we were hoping he would fight it away again but unfortunately cancer won. So this is why I have been absent over the past two weeks from the blogging world. I am happy to be back and hope to get back into the swing of things. Now back to my goals…

I set a lot of personal and blogging goals for myself last month. I also created a bucket list for 2016, which you can find here. This month I have some similar goals but also some new ones.

Here’s a recap of my goals from last month:

Personal

-Lose 5 lbs. I did not meet this goal at all but I also did not gain any weight. So I guess that’s a good thing.

-Eat healthier. I somewhat reached this goal. I am not going to say that I ate completely healthy this month but I have started too. So that counts right?

-Work out 3 x’s a week. I failed at this as well.

-Read one book. I have not picked up a book to start reading it at all. I seriously have not had the time to read.

-Get accepted into grad school. I am still waiting to hear back from the graduate school office. I am hoping to hear something next week.

-Get more massages. I really wanted to get some massages last month but it didn’t happen.

-Have more me time.  I had a little bit more “me” time last month, which an improvement from what it was before.

-Grow my Mary Kay business. Being so busy with my full time job, I let my business slack a little.

-Become more organized.   I have gotten a lot better at this! Thank god for my planner and making to do lists!

-Start my money saving challenge. I saved a little last month which ultimately went to new things I needed to buy.

-Stop buying things I do not need. I did really well with not buying things I did not need last month. I can’t really recall buying much at all last month.

Blog

-Grow my followers on social media. This has been an up and down type of thing for me on instagram. So it still needs to improve.

-Increase my traffic.   I’ve been increasing my traffic for the blog more and more each month. I’m very proud of myself for this.

-Post more consistently.   I’ve gotten somewhat better at posting more consistently but it’s still a work in progress.

-Invest in more blogging courses.  I signed up for three courses. I am always looking to continue to grow my knowledge by taking blogging courses.

-Become a better photographer.   I’m still learning about taking photo’s but I’ve become better.

-Collaborate with other bloggers/make more blogger friends.

-Have better quality photo’s. Still a work in progress but I’ve gotten better.

Here are my goals for this month:

Personal

-Continue to eat healthy

-Workout 3 x’s a week. I can do this!

-Start at least one book.

-Continue to save money

-Clean out my closet and get rid of clothes I do not wear anymore.

Blog

-Write at least 1 week’s worth of post ahead of time

-Maintain my instagram followers

-Look into getting a Twitter account/learn more about using Twitter

-Continue to connect with more bloggers

-Have a link up ready to go before the end of the month

-Write a beauty post. This was a goal for the blog previously but I did not get to it. I have a lot of new posts/reviews I want to do.

-Continue to increase my page views

So as you can see my goals this month are a little bit shorter than last months. I hope to be able to achieve more this month than last month. What are your goals for this month? Did you achieve your goals for last month?

  5. Great goals! You have a lot of them. I admire your ambition…I had like one.

  6. Well done for everything you completed. May I suggest measurable goals. So instead of eating healthier which is quite hard to measure, you could have a goal to eat 5 or more fruit and veggies daily or Healthy options for every evening meal.

I really love reading posts like this. I’m a real goals girl, so it really impressed me when people share their goals like this.

    Good luck with February’s goals.

  8. So sorry to hear about your boyfriend’s uncle. But good luck with your goals! I’ve been the same way with instagram – it seems to be the most up and down for me. One day I’ll gain a couple of followers, the next day I’ll lose a couple. And I have no idea why.

I want to lose 5 lbs, work out 5 x’s a week, eat healither, grow my social media followers, plan and write out my blog posts in advance and finish reading Amy Poehler’s Yes Please so I can start on #girlboss.

Cancer is an awful, awful thing. My mom was diagnosed last year with cancer and the journey has ben a tumultuously sad one, but we are making it through one day at a time.

On a more positive note, great job on your goals for January! I posted my goals for the month as well, and for my blog my goal is to post more consistently, instead of sporadically whenever I get the urge. I used to write my posts out ahead of time and schedule them, and I am trying to get back in the habit.
