April Goals

april goals

Happy Tuesday Y’all! Once again I will say that I can not believe how quickly this year is already flying by. March was a great month for me and I hope April will be as well. Of course with a new month always comes new goals that I hope to accomplish. Here is a recap of  my March goals and how I did.

Personal

Start saving for my trip to Cancun. I consider paying for my plan ticket was some what saving for my trip. I am still in the process of saving money of course.

-Continue to work out 3 x’s a week. There were weeks where I did work out 3 x’s a week and other weeks I did not. So I was half and half on this.

-Finish reading Why Not Me by Mindy Kaling. Yeah this didn’t happen. I really had hopes to finish it but I have not had time to sit down and read.

-Read one book. Nope. Once again see above. One of these days I will finish reading a book.

-Have at least two date nights.  My boyfriend and I had 5 date nights last month. So this was a win for us!

-Not let work life stress me out so much. I did really well with not letting work stress me out last month. I will not say I had an I don’t care attitude but I just let things not bother me as much.

Blog

-Have the link up that is currently in the process completed by the end of this month. I had plans on getting this accomplished but it did not happen. I had reached out to a blogger to do one with but it has not happened yet. I think I am just going to start my own link up later this month but if you would like to do a link up with me email! I’m open to ideas.

-Write a weeks worth of post ahead of time. This did not happen. I wrote a few posts ahead of time but not a whole week’s worth.

-Update old blog posts. I have updated a few old blog posts but this is still a work in progress. I am happy though that I got some updated.

-Meet up with some local bloggers that I met at the Thrive Blog Conference. Yes to this! I meet up with some amazing local bloggers for an amazing brunch. Read about it here.

-Collaborate with more bloggers. Unfortunately this did not happen. I really hope that I will be able to collaborate with some bloggers soon. If you are interested please feel to email me.

-Potentially get a Twitter account. Nope this did not happen. I had every intention to but it got put on the back burner.

-Host a giveaway. I did not host a giveaway but I did participate in one.

-Continue to improve my photography skills.  I recently took some pictures for an upcoming beauty post and I am very happy with how the photos look. I am always going to have this as a goal because I am far from perfect in this area.

So as you can see I did not do too well with accomplishing my goals last month. I am however, happy with what I did accomplish. Now on my my goals for April.

Personal:

-Start finalizing my 30th birthday celebration plans.

-Do some Spring cleaning.

-Continue to save for my trip to Cancun.

-Pay off some debt.

-Cook more meals.

Blog:

-Write some posts out ahead of time.

-Collaborate with other bloggers. If you are interested please feel free to email me. I am always looking to connect with other bloggers even if we are not in the same niche.

-Start doing more beauty reviews. I have a lot of new products that I have bought and I really want to share my thoughts on them with you.

So I am keeping it simple this month with my goals because I actually want to be able to accomplish stuff this month. What are some of your goals for this month?

  2. These are really good goals! I’m jealous of your five date nights—my husband and I try to squeeze one in a month, but I’d love more 🙂 And way to go on updating old blog posts! That’s an ongoing goal of mine, but it’s so overwhelming! Any tips?

Thank You jessica! Last month was a good month for date nights. We try to have a few through out the month because my boyfriend stays busy with work. So it was really nice. It is very overwhelming when it comes to updating old posts. For me I just pick a few that I want to update each month and go from there. I try not to overwhelm myself with updating a lot of my posts all at once.

Thank You Katie! I am waiting on my tax return at this time but that money will be going towards some bills. I would love to spend it all on buying new things for myself but paying off things, is more important. 🙂

I have heard it’s a great way to connect with other bloggers, companies, etc. So I will get on it. 🙂 I am looking to possibly do a book link up, hump day confessions, favorites…something along those lines. I really have been trying to get myself back into working out. My trip to Cancun is a little bit away but it will come quickly.

Are you excited for your birthday?! I remember planning my 30th, it was everything I wanted (the celebration and the planning process): super chilled and easy. We got engaged on your 28th birthday actually, not a bad date at all 😉

You still had a fabulous March, I’d be happy if I could cross off that many off of my list! I need to work some date nights into our life again, before we know it we’ll be a family of three and we’ll have no idea what a date is other than a number on a calendar!

Chelsea I really do try to read but I never seem to accomplish it. So I should probably just stop adding it as a goal. Oh well. It happens. At least I started two books. I guess that counts as something.

Love your goals for this month! Also I definitely understand the struggle of not being able to finish a book when there are just too many other things going on. As for making a twitter (I know it was last month’s goal) I say just make one and then deal with it later. Add the basics to your account and hit create, it might just be the start for others to check you out on there!
