Are you someone that gets easily stressed? I know that I get stressed out easily when certain situations arise. There are days when I find it hard to juggle work/home life and everything in between and when that happens…call the stress monster. Over time I have found ways that have helped me become less stressed. Let’s just say these really have been a life saver when it has come to reducing my stress level. Here are some of the ways I reduce my stress.
- Working Out: Now not all people like to work out but for me it is my number one stress reliever. Endorphin’s make you happy! Working out also allows me to have some time to clear my head and process things a little better. So even if you are not the biggest fan of working out taking a short walk can be a huge help as well.
- Taking time for myself: Sometimes I just need to be by myself. We all need a little me time. When I take time for myself I usually end up reading other blogs, a book or drink a cup of coffee/tea.
- Sleep. Being able to shut out everything and rest my mind really helps calm me down.
- Play music/dance: I love putting on a song I love to help put me in a better mood. This of course usually leads me to having a dance party (all by myself with no shame).
- Get a massage: Massages are absolutely amazing. If you haven’t had one and you are easily stressed I highly recommend them. They are found to be very beneficial to fighting stress and alleviate pain.
- Take a bubble bath: There is nothing quite like taking a nice hot bubble bath.
- Take deep breaths: I can’t tell you how many times I have had to breath in and out to stay calm and not freak out from stress. There are some really good pointers on LegacyHealing.com blogs that I’d recommend that you check out.
- Don’t overload yourself: We all do this thinking that the more stuff we get accomplished, the better. This is not the case most of the time. Learn to prioritize things.
- Think positively: I may be stressed to the max but I always try to remember the positive things I have going on.
- Spend time with family/friends: Anytime I spend time with my family and friends means that we will be cutting up and having fun. What better way to relieve some stress?
As much as we would all like stress to not exist, it’s inevitable to avoid. I hope these tips help you next time you are stressed. What are some ways that you relieve your stress?
I agree with all of these tips! Working out is my #1 too but also the most time consuming.

Thank You Betsy! Working out is time consuming but it really makes you feel better after a stress full day.
I love these ideas, I’m one of those people who get stressed really easily so this is really helpful for me! Thanks a lot ☺️
Amy I tend to get stressed very easily as well. I hope that my ideas are helpful for you. 🙂
Whenever I’m having a stressful day, I like to journal about at least one positive thing that happened that day. It helps me focus on the good things and feel happier!
Emily that is a great idea! Trying to find something positive in your day is always a good thing.
I agree with all of these! My problem is overworking myself and not getting enough sleep. It’s hard when you have a million things to do and not enough time to get them done. Guess I need to start making more time fot myself and relax more. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Melanie I used to overwork myself which only caused me to have more stress. I quickly learned that sometimes it can not all be done at once. I wish I had more time to do a lot of things. I guess I need to figure out more time management for myself. Lol. Hopefully you’ll get some time to relax soon. 🙂
These are great suggestions. If we don’t prioritize ourselves, then eventually everything suffers. It is hard to remember that at times.
Thank You Beth! I agree that putting ourselves first at times can be hard but it is so important to do it.
Sleep is such an essential way to relieve stress, that and exercise! I also love going for walks, and leaving my phone at home!
Chloe sleep is my favorite thing. I love sleeping. Exercising is such a huge stress reliever for me. Taking walks is also really nice. Sometimes you have to detox yourself away from phone, etc.
Me time, working out and massages for the win! I have been needing one for months. The place I normally go had a great deal but they book up fast. I purchased my waiver for a 2-hour massage, I went in to schedule the date and they couldn’t fit me in until June 4th! So I’m really excited lol
I have a massage scheduled for this weekend. I am looking forward to it. They are a must!! Working out really helps calm me down and so does me time. I hope you enjoy your upcoming massage!
Agreed–I definitely have more energy to deal with life’s stress if I’ve worked out! Another good tip is aromatherapy–highly recommend it!
Sandi working out is such a great way to reduce stress. I love aromatherapy as well. 🙂
All great tips. I think there are plenty of people who can benefit from this.
Thank You Deynece! I hope others benefit from it.
My favorite stress reliever is dancing. I crank up the music and just let lose!
Keep smiling!

Molly I love dancing to help reduce my stress. It’s a lot of fun to just let lose!
I’m definitely someone who easily gets stressed and it’s something I’ve been trying to work more on lately. Thinking positive does wonders to really uplift your mood and allow you to easily shake things off, as well as taking enough time for yourself each day. Great tips!
Mimi I also get stressed easily but I have found lately that I am not letting this stress me as much. Being positive is such a big help with improving your mood. I try to be as positive as possible. 🙂
Great list! Bubble baths are the best. Although, I’m horrible at them sometimes haha I try to leave my iPhone and all other electronics out of reach and just relax and listen to music, but I get bored after about five minutes. I then end up grabbing my phone to answer emails or type up blog posts. I’m horrible haha but I’m working on it!
Thank You Keating! I love bubble baths. They help me feel better all the time. I sometimes bring my phone into the bath tub as well. I have to remind myself that is not helping anything.
These are all so helpful! The biggest thing is figuring out what calms you the most. Sometimes I just have to write things down on a piece of paper!
I am glad that they are helpful Lydia! I know everyone has different ways to help reduce their stress level but I hope that mine can help everyone. Writing down things is a great way to reduce stress too!
I agree with all of your tips! I need to exercise more because I agree it’s the #1 way to relieve stress. I find that if I write down my to-do lists instead of keeping them in my head reduce some of the stress.
Thank You Elizabeth! Exercising helps reduce my stress level a lot. I agree as well that writing down to do lists helps.
What great tips! I suffer from stress and anxiety. I’ve learned how to breath to help me relax plus vegging out by watching tv or reading to relax when I’m overwhelmed.
Thank You Karissa! I hope that you find these helpful. Breathing is a big deal when it comes to being able to relax. Also watching tv is nice as well!
Love this list! I just signed up for a monthly membership at a nearby spa that gives me the option of one massage or facial a month. I’m hoping this helps relieve some of the stress that quickly builds up over time!
Thank You Carly!! I have a massage membership as well and it is amazing. I promise you will love it! It really helps reduce stress. 🙂
Massage are my favorite way to relax if only they were cheaper and I could get them monthly :(. When things get too hectic – I usually schedule a technology shut down for an evening or weekend.
Simi massages are extremely expensive. I love them though. I have a massage membership which has been well worth it! Shutting down on technology is a great idea.
I definitely relate to sooo many of these ways to relieve stress! Working out helps me tremendously! I would love to practice yoga even if I just get a DVD to learn some of the basic stretches!
Erin I love working out to relieve stress. It helps so much! I have yet to try yoga but I heard it’s great for that! I enjoy running and lifting weights when I work out. I recently started taking barre classes which has really helped too.
I get stressed easily and have anxiety, so all the tips are quite helpful. I have especially noticed that exercise is probably my #1 way to relieve stress, as I tend to feel better afterwards. Thank you for sharing!
Heather I used to get stressed easily before but I have been trying to work on it a lot. I love exercising. It always helps me feel better. I am glad these tips were helpful.

This was so helpful! Thank you!
You’re welcome Kerri! I am happy that these were helpful!
I’m so bad about overloading myself and stressing out over all the things I think I have to get done. My hubby has helped me see what’s important and what can wait so that i’m not always stressed over un-necessary things. And bubble bath are the best way to relax, especially with some music, candles, and wine. I’ve just jumped on the bath bomb wagon and love them!
Leslie I used to overload myself with doing so much but than I stopped. I try to even out everything that I need to get completed over a time period. Now sometimes certain things can’t wait but some can if you have more time to complete the tasks. I love bubble baths. They are so nice and relaxing. I love bath bombs!! They are a lot of fun!
Great tips! It’s so important to know what calms you down so you know what to do as soon as you feel stressed.

Positive thoughts can be so hard once you get to a certain point, but probably one of the best in general!
I agree Ashley. There are times when I really have to remind myself to think positive when I am extremely stressed.
These are great! One of my favorite stress relievers is walking around Barnes and Nobles. I WISH I could say working out was one, but sadly I hate working out. lol I’m hoping that changes soon though. Great post! Thanks for the tips! 🙂

Floradise: http://www.maretteflora.com
Marette I love Lush bath bombs! Bubble baths are my weakness when it comes to relaxing and reliving stress.
Great ideas! Exercise is one that really helps me. I can be in a horrible mood, and then I go workout, and everything seems a little better. Also, after a good night’s sleep. I take a lot of deep breaths too!
Shann I completely agree with you on working out to make you get in a better mood. It always really helps me out! And yes to a good nights sleep. Sleep is my best friend. Anytime I can sleep is a plus.
Love all of these! my #1 way to crush stress is working out 🙂
Thank You Kara! I love working out to help me with my stress. I get lost in my own world when I work out.
All of these are things I like to do, too. Others I enjoy are going to a cupcake shop and treating myself or sitting out in the sun for a bit and soaking all the beauty in. I’m also a huge fan of mani/pedis or zoning out on my favorite shows!
Leslie soaking up the sun is also a great way to relieve stress. Cupcakes are always yummy!! I had too many this week. Oh well. Lol. I have so many shows I love to watch. I will be doing that this weekend while relaxing!
Yes to all of these! Working out and listening to music is something I do daily as it really helps as a stress-reliever! Great tips!

Thank You Lauren! I hope that you can use some of these to help relieve your stress in the future.
These are all super beneficial! Working out used to be my number one stress reliever and then I had to go on bed rest and struggled finding a new one. I found that making lists helps me! I’m more organized and I don’t have to focus on what to do next, I can just look at the list and then do it! Great tips, love!
