The most wonderful time of the year is finally here!! As crazy as it seems that December has come, I am excited about it. I also feel that it is going to fly by and be over with in a blink of an eye. I honestly do not know where this year has gone. I feel like we were just celebrating Christmas.
November was a very busy month with one of my coworkers moving and then quitting after moving. So I had more work added to plate. Despite that November was a good month. I loved spending time with my family for Thanksgiving and I did a lot of relaxing last month. Maybe a little too much.
November Goals Revisited: Personal & Blog
-Blog 3 x’s a week// Yes and no. There were some weeks I blogged more than 3 x’s and other weeks I didn’t. I’m okay with that though.
-Take batch photos for upcoming posts// I have taken several photos for upcoming blog posts. Now to get them edited and to write the blog posts.
-Take a blogging e-course// I did not take an e-course but I did sign up for Helene In Between Secrets to a Successful Instagram.
-Update 5 pinterest images// Failed at this completely. I only updated one image.
-Plan out my editorial calendar for this month (or at least some of it)// Yes! I had most of my content planned out for November and did most of December as well.
-Post at least two beauty posts/reviews// I did two posts! I did this post and this one.
-Take better care of myself// I have been doing a lot better at this. My blood pressure has went down since the last time I went to the doctor. So that is a plus!
-Get another massage// Failed. I had one scheduled and had to cancel it.
-Spent more time with my family// I saved up some vacation time to spend some extra days with my family for Thanksgiving. I am glad I did.
-Save for my trip to Banff// Failed. I have been more worried about Christmas shopping than saving for my trip.
November Highs
-Spending time with my family for Thanksgiving.
-Getting some Christmas shopping done.
November Lows
-Having more work added to my plate after my co-worker quit.
December Goals: Blog & Personal
-Continue to blog at 3 x’s a week.
-Update 5 pinterest images. I know I can do this!!
-Start planning out my editorial calendar for January.
-Do two beauty haul posts. I have so many hauls that I have done recently. I would love to share what I’ve recently bought and give you my feed back on those products.
-Conduct a reader survey.
-Continue to work out 3 x’s a week.
-Save for my trip to Banff.
-Go see Christmas lights.
-Enjoy the holidays with my friends and family.
There you have it! Thank You so much for taking the time to read my goals. Seeing that January is right around the corner and I’m planning my content out, is there anything that you would like to see on the blog?
I like that you chose a specific number for updating old blog posts. I have simply said I would update them with new Pinterest images, but I have yet to actually accomplish this. Good luck with your goals this month!
Marette I try to set a number, so I can attempt to actually accomplish it. I failed last month. I hope that I can do it this month! 🙂
I think with the whole blogging so many times a week thing, all you can do is your best- ya know? I used to stress so much about ensuring that I had a post out on a certain day at a certain time, but now it’s one of those things if life happens and I can’t, it’s okay. I’d love to see your beauty hauls and hear about your new purchases! I love those! Best of luck with all your blogging goals this month! 🙂
Cara I am the same way now. I feel that if i don’t get a post out, it’s okay. We bloggers are all human and things get in the way. I try to shoot for at least 3 x’s a week. If it doesn’t happen I’m okay with that. I will have a beauty haul later this week (hopefully). I love reading other bloggers hauls as well. 🙂
I don’t think I can manage 3x per week unless I’m really inspired lol! That’s what I call a hustle! 🙂 Great goals!
Thank You Chantal! I try to do at least 3 x’s a week. I have my editorial calendar planned out, so that helps. 🙂
oh that sucks that you got more work added to your plate. It’s never fun to have more during the holiday season. I am glad though that you still got to take time for yourself and that your blood pressure went down. You have lots of awesome goals for January! Can’t waut to see how your month goes!
Angela I can not it’s not to exciting. We are waiting to hear if they are going to hire anyone else. I have been doing better with making sure my blood pressure goes down. Let’s hope it stays that way!
You will get through it! This is the hardest time of the year and Im sure your day job is adding stress but maybe you just set out one sunday to update those pinterest photos and you will feel a lot lighter!
Great job on your november goals!
-Stefanie
Stefanie I will def make it through it. Just have to get there first. I am hoping to get some blogging stuff done this weekend. 🙂
this is a great link up! If I didn’t have my post done for today i’d jump on in! I know you can conquer all your goals this month. I can’t wait to see your beauty haul posts and I definitely want to go look at Christmas lights, too. I hope you have an amazing Monday sweet friend!
Thank You Leslie! You can message Angela about joining in for next month if you want! Let me know and I can send you the info. I am hoping to accomplish my goals this month! I will have some beauty posts coming up this week (hopefully). I would love to go look at Christmas lights. I’ve already told my boyfriend we need to go look at some. I hope you have an amazing Monday as well!
Very ambitious. I think when it comes to savings, if that money is for travel, it becomes the biggest motivator! 🙂
Thank You Aishwarya. Saving money for traveling is always a great motivator.
I love making goals like this and reading other blogger’s goals – it’s so interesting and motivational! 🙂 If I don’t write down my goals in a list like this, they probably won’t happen.
I like to keep all of my blogging goals in a Google document so I can reference them whenever I need to and keep things organized. Now that I’ve read your December goals, that reminds me that I need to work on my own editorial calendar for the rest of this year!
Great post, Mistle!
Bria I am the same way with writing my goals down. This is why I write mine on the blog, it helps me remember what I need to accomplish. 🙂 I have so many ideas for my editorial calendar but just need to get it organized. Good luck with planning yours out!
Are you in Canada? I am in Ottawa. I love your goals. I did my November goals but glad to read on other people’s goals as well. You can see my November goals here: http://www.ladiesmakemoney.com/income-report-november-2016/
Glad to connect with you.
Thank You! I am not in Canada. I am just going to Banff for vacation. Thanks for reading!
That’s amazing!
I love your determination! I definitely think that you can AND WILL accomplish your December goals. You should totally add getting a massage to that list though! With all of your hard work, you definitely deserve it.
Thank You Erica. I hope that I am able to accomplish my goals for this month. I love massages, so hopefully I can squeeze on in this month. 🙂
I love reading other’s reflections on previous months and goals for the upcoming month! It looks like overall November was pretty successful for- way to go! And good luck with December. 🙂
Rebecca I do as well. It always inspires me to do better or to thinking about other goals I could set for myself. I did fairly well in November but I hope to do much better this month. 🙂
This inspires me to be more specific in my goal setting. With 4 kids my goals are frequently pushed back. I think I need to set more realistic goals. Thank you for sharing!
Brittany I completely understand about not accomplishing goals. It happens! Good luck with your goals this month!
You did good! Its OK to not accomplish every single goal. I never do!
Thank You Neely! Hopefully I’ll do well in December. I am okay with not accomplishing everything. It happens. We all try out best. 🙂
Great goals! Enjoying time with friends and family is so important this time of year! I hope you’re able to get that massage too!
Thank You Rachel! I enjoy spending time with my family during the holidays but sometimes I do not have extra vacation days to do more than a day or two. I am thinking about a massage next weekend possibly. 🙂
Ugh, I’m with you on the work thing. I recently got promoted, which is great, but they still haven’t filled my old position which means I’m still trying to do at least the essentials of that job in addition to my new one. And I started my new position on October 10th. They haven’t even had interviews yet :/
Becky congrats on your promotion! That’s exciting! However, I completely know how you feel! I do not think they are going to let us hire anyone in place of my co-worker. Hopefully they do. Good luck with finding someone to replace you soon!
I definitely would love to read your beauty haul posts! I’m all about those! Good luck with this month!
Chelsie I will be having more beauty posts coming next year! So stay tuned! This month I did a few. 🙂
I know how it is to set goals of blogging so much per week, but not exactly meeting it. Best thing is you probably created more content for us to read, so I hope you are proud of your efforts! I cannot wait to see your future stock photos! One thing I am going to gift myself by my next birthday is a nice camera that I can use to capture stock photos. My phone just does not cut it, and looking for free stock photos takes up a lot more of my time than necessary. Thank you for the reminder on how important it is!
Erin sometimes life just gets in the way and not all of my goals can be completed. I’m okay with that though. I feel that as long as I accomplished some of my goals, then I succeeded. I have tried hard with getting as much content out that is better quality. I hope you get a nice camera for your birthday! I take some photos with my phone but I find having a nice DSLR camera is much better. 🙂
Good luck with your goals this month, girl. I am sure you’ll do great 🙂
Thank You Jenny!!! 🙂
best of luck on reaching your goals!
Thank You Pat!
Wow. You’ve gotten so much done in November. A co-worker quitting and work piling up should have been painful, but I’m sure with your December goals, you’d get over it and rock!
Thank You Vaishnavi. It has been an interesting time with my coworker quitting. December has not been too bad.
Your goals are ambitious but very doable. Much success to you and your blog!
Thank You Clara!
Good luck with your December goals! Hopefully your workload eases up this month and they replace your co-worker!
Thank You Rachel! It hasn’t been to bad with the holidays as far as work load. However; once next month hits, if they do not hire someone new…it’s going to be very stressful.
Your goals inspire me. I want to post on my blog at least every two days because it’s new and directing people to it when I only have five posts is embarrasing. So my only goal this month is to get at least 30 posts ready for the new year…. And at least 300 pageviews on it.
Thank You Palesa. Those are great goals to have for your blog!! Starting off small is always good and then increasing it with time. Good luck with your goals!
Love your goals. It is good to hold yourself accountable, even during the busy holiday season. It sounds like you did the most important things like spending time with family and getting your blood pressure down.
Thank You Carmen! I always try to do my best when it comes to holding myself accountable. I agree that I did the most important things when it came to accomplishing my goals.
Good luck on your goals! I can’t wait to go see Christmas lights! We are going on a cruise next week but when we get back we are going!
Thank You Ashley! I have yet to go see any lights yet. Things have been too busy. There is still time though! I hope you enjoyed your cruise!! How exciting!!!
These are all such great goals and very similar to mine! I would have to say that I love looking at lights! I wish you the best of luck with meeting your December goals!
Thank You Ashley!! I have yet to go look at lights because the weather has been horrible here with all the rain. Hopefully I will be able to go look at some this weekend or next. Good luck with your goals as well!!
Wow! Definitely a lot of great goals to achieve. They seem quite doable – rooting for you!
Also, you are on top of it if you’re able to blog 2-3x a week. You got this 🙂
Thank You Vincent! I am hoping to accomplish most of my goals this month! 🙂
These are some great goals. We also want to go see the Christmas lights in our area. They’re so pretty.
Thank You Jasmine. There are several places here that have so many pretty lights to look at.
That stinks that you had more work added on… hope that this month gets better and someone is hired to help out with the workload. That blows.
Excellent goals – especially the working out 3x per week and a reader survey. That’s awesome!! Keep going darling!
Chel is was stressful to have more work added on but it’s slacked off a little with the holidays coming up. They are going to allow us to hire someone else. Which is really great! I don’t think I could have stayed if they did not hire someone else. I hope to work out 3 x’s a week. It may be a little tough with the holidays. Good luck with your goals this month as well!
These are fantastic goals! You can totally achieve them! I have gotten SO behind on my goals this month (too many other things happened) but reading this has reminded me to get back on track. I’m motivated again! Hopefully I can catch back up. 😛 I hope you have a fantastic holiday season and I can’t wait to see what is next for you with Sweet Tea & Hydrangeas (by the way I am obsessed with your blog name since I am from SC).
xoxo Lauren I Glitter & Grandeur
Thank You Lauren! I completely understand with getting behind. It happens, especially with the holidays here. You def got your goals!!! I hope you have a great rest of the holiday season as well. I hope that my blog does a lot of growing come next year. I’m glad you love my blog name. 🙂 It was something that just came to me.
